As usual the coaching sessions for the forthcoming season will be held on Friday
evenings, and initially will be split into two parts - along similar lines to what
we have done previously. Depending on how well the sessions go we may continue after
Christmas with the same format, or just have one long session and limit the number
attending based on quality and commitment. Don’t forget the reason the club runs
these coaching sessions is to encourage young players to progress into a higher level
of play and eventually be part of one of the teams entered in the Banbury & District
Table Tennis Association’s annual league competition and tournaments. Peter Harris
and Becky Bragg came though he system and also represented Oxfordshire County Table
Tennis Association in the National Juniors Competition. Other players who started
as raw recruits have done good things, for example Jack Garner has been the Banbury
& District Table Tennis Association Junior Champion for the last two years.
PRESIDENT'S SHIELD - Congratulations to Luke Blades who was the 2007/2008 winner
of the President's Shield. Luke enjoyed a very successful debut season in the third
division, along with team mates Michael Harrison, Jack Shardlow and Oliver Mason.
