The start of the new season will be Monday 22nd September, and hopefully we will register nine teams again.
All playing members should try to attend one of the five practise sessions at Mollington Village Hall, starting on Wednesday the 20th August 2008 and every Wednesday until the 17th September. Each session will start at 7.30pm and last for two hours. There will be a session charge of £3.00 per person to cover hall hire charges and incidental expenses.
A letter has sent out to all members by John Cook supplying more details regarding such matters as team selections; match nights, etc.
We hope to organise a general meeting of the members to discuss the formation of teams and preferred match nights, so if you have any special requirements or limitations on your availability then please contact either John Cook or Robin Aston.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The club’s ninth AGM was held at Mollington Village Hall on Thursday 24th July 2008 and although the attendance was slightly up on the previous year it was still disappointingly low compared to the number of members currently registered with the club.
In addition to the formal items on the Agenda a number of other interesting topics
were discussed and are highlighted below: -
· Annual Subscriptions will remain at the same level as last season for members who
pay before the end of September (30.09.08). For late payers up to the end of October
(31.10.08) there will be a penalty charge of £5.00 and £2.50 for Seniors and Juniors
respectively. After the 31st of October non-
· This season marks a milestone in the life of the Millennium Table Tennis Club,
when it will celebrate its tenth anniversary. A brief discussion during the AGM concluded
with an agreement that we should organise something special when the season is over.
Dave Webb kindly offered to be part of a small sub-

SCHIJNDEL
Following a very successful club trip to Schijndel in Holland last October, we are now returning the hospitality of our Dutch friends between the 22nd and 26th October 2008. It will be a smaller party than usual comprising eight people altogether.
At the moment we are still in the early planning stages but we will keep members posted from time to time, and hope that you will do your best to get involved with all aspects of the visit, especially those of you went on the last trip to Holland. It will be your chance to repay the hospitality and friendship you enjoyed at the time.
In the Gallery there is a selection of Schijndel photographs, which you might find “interesting”.
COACHING
The usual Friday night sessions will continue with a similar format to past practice,
and due to holiday commitments the earliest start date will be Friday the 3rd of
October 2008 -
A notice will be sent to all those young players who attended last season’s coaching sessions confirming this information.
SPONSORSHIP
ARDO a Danish food manufacturer has once again provided the club with a small quantity of shirts, which are similar to the ones they supplied when we visited Schijndel in 2005. Their generosity is very much appreciated and together with the shirts we already have in stock, every club member should be able to turn out wearing a Millennium shirt from the start of the new season.
Coupled with ARDO’s shirts we should also express our gratitude to Ian Harrison of TRUVO (Holland), who has donated a selection of ‘goodies’ for use as gifts for when our Dutch friends arrive in October. They include baseball caps; memory sticks; pens; sweets; and business card holders.
